hello, i’m alex samuel
Dr. Alex Samuel was born in Brooklyn, NY and graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Pennsylvania State University in 2015. During his time there, he spent two years competing as a Track and Field Sprinter for the university. After his undergraduate graduation, Dr. Samuel obtained his CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification, giving him extensive knowledge in strength training athletes of various sport populations.
In 2020, Dr. Samuel graduated from New York Institute of Technology obtaining his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has conducted research in gait biomechanics of both short and long distance runners and is now able to create greater connections with patients who suffer from running related injuries and allow them to feel comfortable working with him.
As a physical therapist, Dr. Samuel believes “Exercise is medicine. As each of us age, our bodies unfortunately begin to deteriorate. Exercise is the easiest way to counteract our body’s natural aging process so that we may continue to live our lives to its fullest potential.”
Outside of physical therapy, Dr. Samuel enjoys the beautiful weather that South Florida has to offer including playing outdoor sports, jet skiing, and the delicious restaurants.
fields of expertise
Dr. Samuel’s passion for physical therapy began when he learned that he could specialize in treating people of all ages through his favorite hobby, exercise. During Dr. Samuel’s time at Penn State University he performed research in gait biomechanics of long & short distance runners, all while also running track himself for the University.
While practicing in Long Island, New York, Dr. Samuel obtained his Blood Flow Restriction certification and took courses in Graston technique training. He then continued his education in Florida, and learned evidence-based guidelines, recommended “point” locations, and dosages for the use of dry needling in the treatment of specific neuromusculoskeletal conditions. He is now Dry Needling certified by the American Academy of Spinal Manipulation and Dry Needling.
